Batteries are great sources of convenient energy, but they eventually wear out and need to be replaced. Once they’re replaced, the old ones need somewhere to go. Batteries get their energy from chemicals, which is converted into electrical energy. We can safely recycle car batteries and lithium ion batteries at our Electronics Recycling Center in Jacksonville, FL (no traditional alkaline batteries like AA’s or nickel cadmium).
Lead-Acid Battery – When your car fails to start and you have to replace the battery, make sure to recycle the old one. Old batteries, especially the sizable lead-acid batteries used to start a car, can be a significant environmental hazard when thrown away. Contact our Electronics Recycling Center to dispose of these batteries in a responsible manner.
Lithium Ion Battery – Our Electronic Recycling Center accepts both laptop and cellphone lithium ion batteries. These batteries contain a combination of copper, aluminum, cobalt and nickel in varying amounts.
UPS’s w/ battery – UPS’s or Uninterruptible Power Sources, offer a temporary energy source in case of a power outage. We recycle these at our Electronic Recycling Center.
